Issues

• spider-storage awaits inbound-queue sends while holding job control block locks and the job-cache map lock, so a full commit or cleanup lane can stall a job or deadlock the whole service until a restart

  bug

• A dropped storage RPC future (e.g., an execution manager exiting mid-report) can leave the job cache half-updated and the job stuck in Running until a storage restart

  bug

• spider-storage exits with status 0 after a fatal error, so Docker Compose's default on-failure:3 restart policy never restarts it

  bug

• The storage session is only checked in memory, so a superseded spider-storage process keeps committing job transitions after its replacement recovers, causing re-executed jobs and fatal shutdowns

  bug
  y-scope/spider#520 · Filter by author LinZhihao-723 opened on Oct 8, 2026

• ReportTaskSuccess requests over tonic's default 4 MiB decode limit are rejected by storage and dropped by the execution manager, leaving the job stuck in Running

  bug

• Cancelling a CommitReady job that has no cleanup task shuts down the storage service, because JobState::is_valid_transition rejects CommitReady → Cancelled

  bug

• SharedJobControlBlock::fail_task_instance leaves the failed job's other tasks Running, leaking their task instance pool entries and re-dispatching them until their execution manager dies

  bug
  y-scope/spider#517 · Filter by author LinZhihao-723 opened on Oct 8, 2026

• A terminal task failure that races cancel_job shuts down the storage service, or overrides the acknowledged cancel and skips the job's cleanup task

  bug

• JobOrchestration::get_job_outputs shuts down the storage service when called on a cached job that has not succeeded, instead of returning FAILED_PRECONDITION

  bug

• Cancelling a Ready job that has a cleanup task shuts down the storage service and leaves the job uncancelled

  bug

• TaskGraph::recover_from_commit_ready drops the job's cleanup task, so cancelling a CommitReady job after a storage restart shuts down the storage service
