Nest Developer Account

Before nerdnest can talk to your nest device you need to create a nest developer account and create a nest "product". The developer account allows you to interact with any Nest product programmatically. The "product" allows you to specifically control access for yourself to your Nest device.

It is a quick and easy process, you'll be started in no time!

Go to https://developers.nest.com/ and sign up for the developer account

Click on the "Create new OAuth client" button

Enter the mandatory product descriptions. Leave "Default OAuth Redirect URI" and "Additional OAuth Redirect URIs" blank.

Drill into Thermostat and click the "Thermostat read/write" checkbox...

This will popup another screen. Enter your description

Click "Create"
