Bundle costs are scaled to $25 every month, so if the AMB price increases, bundle will cost less AMB. Its implemented this way for the Hermes owners to be able to forecast their costs for at least one month, provided that they buy enough AMBs for the month up front once the bundle fee is set in the start of the month. This was specifically added to the cryptoeconomics to ensure bundle production stability and Hermes owners’ ability to produce with no interruptions, to avoid them running out of monthly budget before the actual end of the period
Every uploaded bundle by a Hermes server is worth $25.
- 50% of that is reserved for Developer Fee Fund, and the other 50% is divided by Apollo and Atlas Nodes. This percentage is degressive over time.
- 30% ($3.75) of that $12.50 goes to the Apollo Nodes, leaving $8.75 for Atlas Nodes. See the tokenomics for more info about these figures.
A bundle is stored in 7 Atlas Nodes, and each of those Nodes will get 1/7th ($1.25) of the $8.75.
For every bundle of data stored for one year, the Atlas operator is compensated 78% of that bundle, paid out in regular intervals of 28 days over 12 months. The remaining 22% (known as the bonus unlock) is compensated in the final 28 day period as a completion bonus for successfully sheltering the bundle for the 1 year storage period.

Bundle rewards distribution is every 28 days, which translates to 13 months.
You get $1.25 for each bundle in a year. 78% of that $ 1.25 will be divided by 12 , and the 13th payout is for the remaining 22% after successfully sheltering the bundle in storage for a year.
Payouts will include all bundles sheltered.
- 78% of $ 1.25 = $ 0.975
- 22% of $ 1.25 = $ 0.275 (Bonus for successfully storing a bundle for a whole year.)
0.975/13 = 0.075 (Reward per bundle every 28 days.)
Let's say you get 1 bundle per day. The first month rewards will be $ 0.075 per bundle each day. If you continue to store 1 bundle everyday for the entire year, then every month you will generate more and more.
Each added month will add $ 0.075 to the daily bundle rewards, so it will look like this:
-
The first payout (after 28 days) you will receive rewards from that 28 bundles which equals 28x0.075= $2.10 if you are getting 1 bundle a day.
-
The second payout you will receive at least an additional bundle daily which should double your total number of bundles, bringing it to at least 56. 2x28= 56
-
The Third payout will net you with 84 bundles, going after the principle again that you receive 1 Bundle daily. 3x28=84 And so on..
-
At the final payout, you will also receive the final 22% for successfully storing the bundle for a year. Those bonus unlocks will continue to appear on every payout from now on, because every payout from now on should have bundles that have successfully been sheltered for the contract duration (1 year).
-
Let's say you successful sheltered 20 bundles for a year, that have reached the full storage cycle that month. The payout of every successfully completion of a sheltered bundle will nail you a total extra of: 20*0.275=$5,75

Running VPS for a node will cost approximately:
- $7 a month when using Hetzner, including 21% VAT. 7/0.075=94, which is the total amount of bundles you need to cover your monthly costs for the entire year if you are running a server Hetzner.
- $18 a month when using Digital Ocean, including 21% VAT. 18/0.07= 245, which is the total amount of bundles you need to cover your monthly costs for the entire year if you are running a server on Digital Ocean.
Every bundle after that will generate you profit. An Omega generates 1~3 Bundles each day. 1x0.075=0.075 and 3x0.075=0.225 . Which means an Omega will generate +/- $ 0.15 a day in the FIRST MONTH.
Around the fourth month your Omega's VPS costs should be covered by the bundle rewards payout, and the last 8 months should grab you a nice profit -IF- of course you decide to payout your AMB. You can lower your initial months of VPS costs by using the referral codes in the installation guides (that is if you are a new customer to either DO or Hetzner).
Please not the shown reward image is for illustration purposes only. Your result may vary by the variables 1) bundles received per month and 2) the price of AMB at the moment of payout 3) Your VPS costs 4) your node tier.
The following image shows how the reward structure for an Apollo node works including an example.

The following website allows you to calculate your rewards. Be mindful of the fact that the figures below for Atlas nodes represent the earnings after 1 year of storing bundles, meaning rewards will be significant lower the first months and will ramp up over time.

There is a community tool for automatic daily reward tracking on Apollo's with a Python script. Check out the installation guide and script here: Apollo automatic Reward tracking
