ACM Requirements

ACM proper requires student organizations to do a few things in order to maintain good standing with the official ACM organization: https://www.acm.org/.

Active Member List

ACM chapters are required to maintain an active member list. The list can be in whatever format. Chapters must have a minimum of 10 members.

Officer Roles

ACM student orgs must have a Chair, Vice Chair, and Treasurer who are ACM student members and a faculty sponsor who is an ACM professional member.

Annual Report

ACM’s fiscal year begins on July 1st and closes June 30th. Every student chapter is required to file an annual report each fiscal year. This report should contain:

  • Basic finances and census: this section must be completed first
  • Cash & Disbursements
  • Meetings and Recent Activities
  • Upcoming activities
  • Authorization and signatures
  • finalization of the report

More information about this report can be found here: https://www.acm.org/chapters/chapter-policies

Engage Registration

The ACM club is required to re-register for Engage at the end of each semester. Typically this doesn’t take that long, but be sure to have a copy of the ACM rules and keep a log of all the equipment that the club owns that costs more than $500.
